Shaelin Jornigan | Sainthood in a Cast
acrylic on paper oil on paper | 2018
Shaelin Jornigan is an abstract painter from Allbuquerque, New Mexico whose works explore narrative, family, feminism, and intimacy through energetic and colorful forms.
"Sainthood in a Cast" is one of Jornigan's "Big Biff" series, which depicts embarrassing moments, mistakes and, most importantly, falls. This is the sister painting to "Big Biff (No Hands)" and depicts the broken arm that resulted from a tumble taken by the artist's sister when she tried to use a pogo stick with no hands.
