Kobina Nyarko | Ocean Colors

Oil on Canvas | 2007

"Ocean Colors" is a large three panel piece by Kobina Nyarko, one of Ghana's premier contemporary artists. Many of Mr. Nyarko's works over the past 15 years explore the symbolism of fish as seen through the eye of the shark. "Ocean Colors" is one of Mr Nyarko's first large abstract paintings. Mr. Nyarko’s work is considered to be illustrative of 3rd generation Ghanaian artists, who freely express themselves as artists in a modern world, without succumbing to restrictive notions of African art.
