Shaelin Jornigan is an emerging contemporary painter working out of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Beginning her creative ventures at a young age, Jornigan's work won extensive awards in juried art exhibitions by the age of 18, including a scholarship to the College of Fine Arts at the University of New Mexico. Having completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus in Drawing and Painting in the Spring of 2017, Jornigan continues to show work in New Mexico. Jornigan's work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions around Albuquerque, including shows at the Harwood Art Center, John Sommers Gallery, Pacific Exhibits, Graft Gallery and 5G North.
Focusing on portraiture in the early stages of her studies, Jornigan's work has shifted through various forms of surrealism and abstraction. Current works take the form of bodily abstractions created through a process that involves a combination of collage, drawing and painting.
