Curtis Bayer | Lord of the Fly
found objects Assemblage | 2015
As an avid flyfsherman, I’ve collected discarded items streamside over the years and turned them into art. This piece features a door panel from Deep Creek, CA, a barrel latch from the Black Warrior River, AL, a vintage fly reel from Saddlebag Creek, CA, a circular saw blade from the Rio Chama, NM, tin wings from the Jemez River, NM, a glass element from the Oregon Coast, and other ephemera. The name comes from the piece being reminiscent of a Crucifix.
All pieces are one of a kind.
