Kathy Morrow | Good Medicine Pony
painted cast resin | 2011
Found on the streets of Las Cruces and badly damaged, Kathy Morrow rescued this life size Trail of Painted Ponies running pony. Kathy restored the sculpture to its original casting condition; sanded off four layers of paint and prepared the surface for painting the new art titled Good Medicine. The main body of the horse represents Red-man followed by paintings of a Palomino to represent Yellow man; a Black horse to represent Black man and White horse to represent - White man. Sculpted and painted Bald Eagle feathers and ribbons adorn the large Medicine Wheel and flow onto the tail.
