Gayle Faucette Wisbon | Fairyland
Acrylics on stretched canvas | 2019
Fairyland is my first painting inspired by my recent visit to the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument. It was mostly a cloudy day and halfway through my hike, it started snowing all of a sudden. Within minutes it stopped and a little bit of sun peeked through the clouds. I paused to do a quick sketch and take pictures of these rocks.
This is an acrylic painting on a stretched canvas with gallery wrapped edges. I added some Liquitex Black Lava medium into the paint on the rocks. It was the perfect medium since these rocks were formed from volcanic eruptions.
The painting continues onto the edges so framing is optional. It's signed on the front and back, varnished and wired for hanging.
