Barbara J. McGuire | Biking into Grandeur
watercolor on paper | 2017
Road Biker riding uphill toward the Sandia Mountains; a 10,600 ft. peak and designated Wilderness Area. The name "sandia" comes from the Spanish word for watermelon. These mountains briefly wear the most amazing shades of red and pink during sunsets on clear days. The Sandias border the eastern edge of the city of Albuquerque, NM and are the southern tip of the Rocky Mountains.
